Hi, I'm Linda.
I am a product of Fluvanna County Schools. I graduated from Fluvanna County High School in 1966. For my undergraduate degree, I was in the first class of women at Va Tech. When I transferred to finish my undergraduate degree, I was in the first class of women at the University of Virginia, where I graduated cum laude. I went on to attend Eastern Virginia Medical School and trained in orthopedics at the University of California in San Francisco. I lived there for many years until I returned to Virginia in the mid 1990s. I first settled in Farmville, Virginia where I had a private practice. In 2000, I began work at the University of Virginia Medical Center. I retired at the end of 2009 to care for a dying spouse and also begin pursuing a second career as a professional artist. Throughout my medical career, I was involved in teaching many students--medical students, nursing and nurse practitioner students, physician assistants, X-ray technicians, and undergraduates at the University of San Francisco.
I believe that education gives you the tools you need to understand the world around you and to be successful within that world. I would like to see every child in Fluvanna county have the chance to develop and use those tools.
